Georgia Hemp Program

Under the authority of the Georgia Hemp Farming Act, the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) is authorized to regulate the cultivation and processing of hemp in the State of Georgia.

Both Processor Permit and Grower License Applications can only be submitted online.

Due to the Governor's Public Health State of Emergency and Executive Order for the Statewide Shelter in Place to help fight COVID-19, GDA is aware that many Cogent System facilities are temporarily closed and unable to process background check fingerprinting.

It is recommended that during this time, applicants contact their local law enforcement agencies to determine if they can process fingerprints/background checks. Results of those criminal history checks, signed and dated by the law enforcement agency, can be provided to GDA as part of the application package. For questions, please email
